Mindful Hack #58
Self-compassion and self-care have been more important than ever for our wellbeing this past year, but there are still plenty of us that aren’t very good at either. What’s even worse than that, we are so often our own worst critics and unable to celebrate or even see the many small “wins” in our days and lives.
I have repeated the words, more than once, that everyone is “doing the best they can, with the tools that they have,” but today I want to add that we could always do a little bit better. We could be a little more patient, kinder, move a little more slowly, chew a little more thoughtfully, listen more deeply. And most of all, we could recognize the good that’s already right here inside of each of us.
So this week I offer a compassionate paradox: you are perfect just as you are, and there is always room for improvement.
